Worldwide there are five great collections, including Paris, where those involved in the fashion industry gather together. In recent years, Asian models have done very well at many of the shows by the big fashion houses. Asian models with their supple and shiny black hair striding down the runway are already a standard for beauty recognized by the world.
What is the secret to the popularity of these Asian models? One designer who used Asian models replied, "The attraction of the Asian models is the dewy and smooth skin, the supple black hair, and the mysterious beauty." Well, then, are models the only ones endowed with this mysterious beauty?
Not at all. The secret of such beauty is something essential that exists in the micro world. It is a secret shared by everyone who is Asian.
Have you ever seen your skin magnified at a cosmetics counter? At the Hair Beauty Research Center, we do the same when we look at magnified cross sections of hair to research the quality of Asian hair. The shape is individual and differs from person to person. When you compare Asian and Western people, it is evident that they have different tendencies.
Looking at the color, Western hair is light while Asian tends toward black. This simply reflects the color of the hair as it is. Caucasians with wavy hair have a tendency for elliptical shapes, while Asian who often have straight hair tend toward a circular shape. The average of the diameter (minor axis) is 76 microns for Asians and 52 microns for Caucasians. Even people who think their hair is fine are, in actual fact, about the same as Caucasians with thick hair. It is precisely this thickness of approximately 1.5 times that is the origin of the beauty of Asian hair.
Why is the thickness of hair the starting point for beautiful hair? If we measure the strength that causes hair to rebound (elasticity) when it has been bent, it is evident that thick hair has a higher level of elasticity. It is this elasticity that makes the hair supple and bouncy. The thick hair of Asian people has a quality that is naturally endowed with suppleness.
Hair that is approximately 1.5 times thicker has approximately 1.9 times the volume of interior fiber. This means that there is a lot of potential for improvements. With care that is suitable to Asian hair, your hair should become even more beautiful.
Kao ASIENCE has organised Hair Diagnosis events at 7 locations throughout Asia to help Asian women achieve their full beauty potential.

There are many factors that cause damage to hair such as the environment, hair colouring and perming. With the proper care, Asian hair can be restored to regain its natural beauty from within.
